Come dine with the Leader of the Council
Every year I arrange an event at my local The Ship in Distress called 'Come dine with'. Last year we had our Member of Parliament and the year before our then Mayor. The format is very simple, a really sumptuous three course menu including a half bottle of wine per person, some really good interchange between the key speaker and the diners with some serious issues thrown in. This year it is my turn to be the host and to be put under the spotlight with questions from the floor dispersed with some political banter and inevitable humour. The evening can swing from serious to hilarious in seconds but in essence is to do with talking about local and national problems in a convivial social atmosphere. This years Come dine with the leader of the Council is on November 14 starting at 7.0for 7.30pm at the Ship In Distress Stanpit table of two four and six.. I'll put the word around Grange Ward as I am sure there will be plenty of interested parties. After all,it will make a change from going to the food bank!
