Re-newable energy conference

Shortly I will be announcing the date of a conference to be held at CBC to discuss how we and indeed the rest of Dorset can become self sufficient in renewable energy and investigate the possibilities of alternatives to the development of highly subsidised off shore wind farms. The matter of these turbines located so close to our shoreline has caused considerable angst in our community and I do feel we need to review the situation to see if there are alternatives which would be more sustainable and less intrusive to our eco-structure as well as being more efficient in energy production. The conference will consider a number of different alternatives with promoters displaying their projects for all to view and comment on. The message will be as previously blogged and with a following wind the event will be held in September the actual date to be announced soon. Christchurch is leading this drive to get an open but co-ordinated debate started so that we and our neighbours are not forced into accepting energy sources which might do irrevocable harm to our local environment. More details later.
