Civic ceremony at the Priory
The civic ceremony held at the Priory on Sunday last is in fact an historic event, the procession along the High Street on a bright and sunny day with the scouts band playing their hearts out is always a delight, but this year more so as again the new Mayor is a lifelong Christchurch resident with many years service to the community. A poignant Priory service included an excellent sermon from the vicar in charge and the Priory choir excelled themselves, I would have liked to have heard more! Refreshments in the beautiful Red House Museum gardens for all invitees went well with the official photographer arranging the Councillors and dignitaries for the group photograph. A wonderful Christchurch tradition, well executed and policed and a bonus for all those Sunday morning visitors to our delightful town.
