A sad end to the holiday

The death of my Sister yesterday after fighting cancer for thirteen years was untimely and unexpected despite her fragile condition.I last spoke with her on Boxing day and we arranged to talk again on New Years day, regrettably she succumbed early on New Years Day morning. When someone this close passes on it brings into perspective ones own mortality and so I have been full of reflections for the last twenty four hours. This is not something I am good at as I have always lived for the present and the future, but it does bring into focus how life's priorities are balanced and the importance of making the most of the years we are given to make our mark. God bless Jean.
