Stanpit Marsh recreation ground
I may have blogged earlier about the redesign of the Stanpit rec. carpark and general upgrading of the area comensurate with it's importance as the gateway to the SSSI Stanpit marsh. For a long time I have been concerned that the recycling bins have downgraded the area in terms of their appearance, the mixed message that they portray and the regular fly tipping that occurs of material which is different to that specified in the bins. You may remember that this led to a quite serious fire in the paper bin last Christmas which frightened the occupants of nearby houses. I can now report that CBC will be removing the bins w/c 24th October and relocating them to the car park at two rivers meet for what they term a trial period.Posters will be displayed asking for any complaints about this action to be directed at CBC where they will be recorded presumably for future use.The inference is that should the complaints from anyone, and they need not live in the locality, be loud enough then the bins will be returned. So if you live close by and agree that this gateway is special and should not be regarded as a tip with all that that means including the safety issue, I would appreciate if you could write to me or Cllr Davis and we will record your comments accordingly.
