Queen Elizabeth 11 Diamond Jubilee

In Ringwood a magnificent Victorian street lamp stands proud in the market square in celebration of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. Next year sees sixty years of our Queen Elizabeth's reign and I think we should do something which leaves a legacy in the Borough for such an achievement so that in a hundred years time someone like me can see the respect and emotion Christchurch residents had for their Queen, just as I did when I looked at the street lamp in Ringwood. So I have today written to CBC with the request that we in Christchurch do something similar, perhaps a plaque at the Mayors parlour and have a bit of a party at the same time. Nothing over the top in theses difficult times but certainly a celebration and legacy is needed to send the message that Christchurch cares. What do you think?
