What a week!!! (Wednesday)

Perhaps one of our greatest contributions over the last four years has been our determination to work in partnership with Police and other agencies to reduce crime and disorder and fear of crime in the Borough. That we have achieved reductions which means levels of crime and anti social behaviour not seen for decades, is due to dedicated and motivated CBC officers working with Police, the housing providers, NHS, probation and other agencies to a common and County wide program based around the principle of Safer Neighbourhood Teams and community engagement. So I was delighted to receive senior Police Officers from Christchurch for our annual review in my office. We had a detailed but far ranging debate about current and future issues culminating in assurances that whilst endeavouring to keep the incidents to the current low levels we had reached a point that even single incidents could screw our crime figures. A good place to be though this town called Christchurch, with fear of crime at it's lowest recorded level! Resources committee took me through to the evening and I finished having dinner at eight thirty pm. A full time job is this leader lark!!!
