Christchurch By-pass
One of the urban myths that amuses me, and then makes me angry, is that Christchurch has a by-pass. Now it takes some persuading to describe the spur road foisted upon us by the then Liberal controlled highways committee (years ago) as a by-pass as it terminates in the centre of the town! So having at the same time rejected a proper by-pass to the North East of the town. when they had the chance to do it all those years ago, it comes as bit of a surprise that the Christchurch Cell of the Liberal party (CCOTLP) claims to be''battling for a by-pass'' in the previously referred to piece of election literature. I would be more impressed if they had published their response to the current South East Dorset Transport Plan consultation process claiming that this was their objective, in fact I have seen nothing to this end from the CCOTLP or any contribution at all from their representative on County.Hanging on to the coat tails of Conservative policy is just not good enough unless they give credit in their literature for the direct and objective approach the Conservatives have taken in their response to whole subject of transport and traffic in the Borough of Christchurch. I still have not finished dissecting this document so more to come.
