Contractors consideration! you must be joking
Those of us that suffer the daily rigours of driving along Stanpit to Purewell cannot have failed to see that the new lighting system inflicted upon us by DCC is being installed. Now I do know that road works can be a bit frustrating but for the houses along Stanpit this week has been a nightmare. The contractors blocked off a number of driveways having dug ditches at the crossover and just left the residents stuck behind the barricades. I must have spoken to the DCC lighting division a half a dozen times in the last few days in an attempt to get them to be a bit more considerate. I have to say that at last they have got the message but some three days late. I have been trying to get Council to adopt as part of our overall policy the Considerate Contractors scheme as I am seeing an increasing disregard for the wellbeing of residents by both building and utility contractors. Can I remind you of what went on at 52/54 Stanpit last year.Just why these companies think that they have the right to disrupt the lives of people at no redress is quite beyond me, that they blatantly ignore reasonable requests from residents for access to their own property is a disgrace. And where was the County Councillor? answers on a postage stamp please.
