Urban foxes are they becoming a problem in Purwell and Stanpit

I have been contacted by a resident who complains about the article in the Courier about dog mess as she considers that foxes present just as big if not a bigger problem. I have to say that I am aware that urban foxes are about but have never considered that they represent a serious problem until now. Her point is that the same diseases can be caught from fox droppings and we should be undertaking controls to limit the fox population.
My question is, do other residents agree that urban fox numbers are getting out of hand and what should we be doing about it if that is the case? Meanwhile I will enquire from other ward councillors if they have been advised of this as a problem.
