Purewell crossing completed.
Finally the new crossing refuge at Purewell has been completed and stands resplendent together with new railings and bollards improving the pedestrian and disability scooter crossing at this busy junction. Call me sad if you like but I have stood for many minutes watching the effect of the junction and how pedestrians are using it and have seen for myself how much easier it is to cross at this point. The new railings installed to prevent irresponsible drivers exiting over the pavement from the car park has added to the gravitas of the area and this roadside architecture has contributed to the style and improved the presence of the shopping parade. I think CBC should be given a bit of a pat on the back for the way they delivered this project considering the problems that we encountered and residents can be pleased that what has been delivered has improved safety and added to the whole look of this important junction. Time will tell if it helps to reduce speeds and volume of traffic but all in all I think we have made a real improvement to this area.
