You may have noted from press coverage that Police are concerned that distraction burglaries are on the increase in Dorset. This despicable crime is targeted at elderly and vulnerable residents and occurs when burglars pretend to be from the water,gas,electricity providers, gain entry to homes with some bogus story and robs the occupants of cash and small valuables. Please be on your guard and do not let anyone into your home without thorough vetting of their credentials by telephoning the companies they purport to represent or simply telling them to make an appointment. Keep you door chain connected at all times and do not hesitate to contact your SNT, Crimestoppers, Homewatch if you are in any way concerned about persons acting strangely in your neighbourhood.
