Surgery on Saturday

Wow! what a morning, with nearly twenty residents bringing in concerns I am so sorry some of you had to wait a little. Litter, parking, cycling on the pavements, trees and general stuff but everyone involved in trying to make our patch a bit better. I was so encouraged that Purewell residents came along in force to talk about the problems caused by the vacant building plots which are becoming unsightly because I was able to explain our frustration at not being able to do anything as the Environment Agency is determining that no extra domestic development can take place due to their 'flood assessment 2 ' policy. This is developing into a real problem and beginning to, detrimentally, influence the look and feel of the area. I am in discussions but with no sign of a way through at present. Parking is another horny subject and I know we are all watching carefully to see if notices appear on lamp posts indicating that another scheme is afoot. Cleaning the streets of autumn leaves was another problem and although I have to say that this is not as easy as it might appear due to parked cars preventing the machine from getting at the debris, I will speak to street scene tomorrow to see what can be done. I would say though that where leaves are scattered around thresholds it would be very helpful if residents take the initiative.Other issues are being handled by Sparky and Barry on behalf of PACT. A good morning though, thanks to all of you who attended.
