Further to my earlier blog I am now aware that a petition against these proposals will be presented to the full Council at the next meeting on Tuesday 1st December. I am on a walkabout tomorrow (Tuesday 10th Nov. ) with the chairman of PACT and we will be seeing for ourselves the extent of the problem again. I am opposed to this wholesale change to residents amenities in order to speed up the bus services to Bournemouth and fully support those businesses and residents who will be affected.
It could be that some readjustment is necessary at certain positions on the road but I have to declare my astonishment and real concern that this matter has reached this point without any involvement by me as ward Councillor and have made my point accordingly.
As a result the annual assessment of these traffic orders has been changed to a quarterly system with notification to ward councillors as part of the process.
