Story in the Echo

I read an article over the weekend written by Vince Cable the treasury spokesman for the Liberal Party. He is the one shown on the infamous and untruthful leaflet distributed in Christchurch about the Bowling Green. It was an attack on the Chancellor of the Exchequer, who he said should resign or be sacked because there was clear evidence of Darling not telling the truth. Now there is public condemnation of one of his County Councillors for telling untruths, I wonder what Mr Cable is going to do? Difficult one for him, does he just turn a blind eye even though his picture appeared on the offending leaflet or does he call in his favourite candidate for a chat. And in that chat will he express the same revulsion of dishonesty in politics that he portrayed in the Darling piece? I am unsure if Mr Cable will read this blog but if he does and because he has publicly supported his candidate over the issue of the Bowling Green fabrications, should he not take decisive action to restore a modicum of honesty to local politics? Perhaps we can expect a statement from him or another heartrending plea in the Mail.
