Into the last week
In the last five weeks or so my team has visited every house in Christchurch Central at least twice and in some cases three times. You might wonder why I consider this a necessary part of electioneering in to days climate of electronic and telephonic communication. The answer is simple, it is only by talking directly and individually to our community that we can have any hope of understanding just what we as local politicians should be doing to make all our lives better. Many of you have expressed their views about the Parliament gravy train, some more forcibly than others so I know how deep the anger goes and how let down we all feel. But please remember if you make a protest vote at County level this will be our legacy for four years. There is so much to do to make Christchurch Central a better place and that requires making sure we go a lot higher in the pecking order when it comes to getting deals from County. I have made it quite clear in my campaign that I do not think Christchurch Central has been represented properly at Dorchester and that it is time for a change. To all those who have agreed with me and offered their support I say thank you.
