Something positive
It seems to me to be pointless to continue to keep banging on about the decision to develop the Kings Arms. The plans were passed, the Hotel is now renovated and bringing income into the town and the housing is starting to be occupied. One positive thing I found coming from this development was the Millstream project funded by the developers of this site under what is called an R106 agreement. This entailed structuring a program with Highcliffe School for kids who may or may not have academic qualities for the regeneration of the Millstream at the Royalty. This includes an understanding of the bio-diversity of the stream and how important it is to the drainage process and of course the flora and fauna. This then contributes to the kids qualification at the end of their schooling. The Echo covered this story this week and it was good to see this contribution coming out of the Kings. The kids that I met were all very enthusiastic as to their achievements at the stream and had as one of them said to me ''I can come back here in a few years time with my own kids and say look at it now, I did that'' By the way what a fantastic place that we live in, go down to the footpath and have a butchers.
