'Let them eat cake' County Councillor on the attack
Today, at a meeting that was to do with the excellent work of the Conservative group in restoring a decent bus service to Christchurch, I was attacked by the 'let them eat cake' County Councillor. She was the one that wrote the scandalous comments about Kelly's Kitchen in an e-mail describing the business in grossly insulting terms. She attacked on the basis that I had no right to refer to her e-mail as it should not have been in the public domain and that she had support from other County Councillors. This of course was going on when another member of the Liberal Party (Christchurch Cell) was speaking on behalf of the business at the DCC planning meeting. So what is going on? Do I detect a trace of duplicity here? Are they playing two sides against the middle due to the numbers that signed the petition or have we a genuine split? Frankly any Councillor who describes a business in these terms is acting beyond their remit especially as they have no experience of running any sort of concern be it in catering or any other industry. Had this been my business I would be talking to a lawyer seeking retribution!
