You may recall that one of my key issues in the forthcoming County Election will be the call for a complete review of the traffic system, by County, in Christchurch concentrating on the Fountain round-a-bout and High Street. This is owed to us by County since the last major review paid for by Christchurch ratepayers in November 2003. I am a little surprised therefore to see that the incumbent County Councillor for Christchurch Central has now, after two terms of office decided that this is a very good idea and calling for the same review. My immediate reaction, apart from incredulity, is why after six years of inactivity about this subject, has this issue become important to him? Clearly the views of the electorate have not been listened to.
We need County Councillors who STAND UP FOR CHRISTCHURCH.If this is so important to Central Christchurch now why has nothing been done about it for the last six years?
