The Big Tidy Up

Keep July 18th free for the Grange and Purewell Big Tidy Up. Together with my collegues from P&S PACT headed up by Sparky we have arranged for a major 'drop in' litter pick from 11am till 3pm. All the collection stuff will be provided, might be a good idea to bring you own gloves, and a barby wil finish the day paid for by CBC.Together with David Jones (candidate for Burton in the coming election) and his wife Cllr. Denese Jones we hope to attract students from Grange school and many Grange residents. We need to send out a clear message that littering in all its forms is not acceptable and is an indicator of a lack of pride in the beautiful place that we live.
I have just got back from Singapore, 4.8 million people and not a bit of litter to be seen, no chewing gum blotches and the hedge rows free of plastic bags fluttering in the wind. Whatever the reason that people there don't litter, it was really refrshing to see.
