The disturbing reports of two burglaries in River Way highlights the importance of local residents strengthening their Homewatch numbers and watching out for each other. It is maybe a coincidence that Homewatch is least represented in this area but clearly residents have to be aware of any suspicious happenings and Homewatch facilities of direct phone line, web site and contacts could make a difference.I will be looking to see if our recruitment drive is successful in this area and have asked the Homewatch team to be particularly aware of potential members so that they can work closely with them to give River Way and surrounding areas Homewatch cover.
Despite these horrible crimes Christchurch is still a very safe place to live.
