Government bin tax

I wrote earlier about the attempt by this government to impose a new tax on residents aimed at bin collection. I am now informed that at the end of November this received Royal Assent and this was achieved without a vote in Parliament! In short the bill centres on four tax possibilities. A tax levied by the resident having to pay for special bags and the those bags counted and extra tax paid according to the number collected.Any rubbish in any other bag will not be collected and residents will be required to take that material to the local tip. Imagine the queues! A tax will be levied according to bin size, this in addition to your local community tax. Also a tax which is calculated from information generated by a chip place in the wheelie bin which will measure weight. Finally a tax will be levied separately as a collection tax separate from the Community Tax. Local Authorities are now being asked to adopt this system and in my opinion it will become a key issue over the next few months.I expect some vigorous debate about this as I consider that it is another stealth tax introduced under the counter and will result in more fly tipping.
