Saxon Square and other projects

Saxon Square is now well under way and the transformation in spacial terms and daylight improvement quite extraordinary. The Hotel project is also coming on at a pace. I am particularly pleased that all of the heavy deconstruction work has been undertaken at night thus reducing the effect on traders and accessibility to shoppers. Another exciting project is now kicking off at the other end of the town and by next summer we should see a transformation of the old post office to a residential and retail area with a bit of commercial in the mix also. So all of this proves that Christchurch is a good place to invest, a good place to live and visit whilst retaining it's unique charm. We now need to start thinking as to how we can improve the pedestrian/traffic balance in the High Street to make the Christchurch experience even better.

I'm not sure the addition of Morrisons with their estimate of almost 10,000 car journeys per day will improve the pedestrian/traffic balance in the High Street.
Certainly not in Purewell or Bridge Street conservation areas.
