Christchurch Hospital
So now we can move on and get delivered all the benefits described by the applicants in terms of new build and medical services following the decision by CBC planning committee last night. I was impressed at the level of debate and understand the issues raised by objectors that see this development as an unacceptable change to the status quo.I think that by getting the architects to review their original presentation we have a far better design and therefore a much better presentation of this gateway site. So well done members of the committee. One exciting prospect is that with this new development comes an opportunity to fully explore the medical services that can now be commissioned by the Bournemouth and Christchurch Trust and that which could additionally be provided by the new GP practice. Having been working hard on the new Health and Wellbeing board CBC are well placed to encourage more services to benefit our community. The underlying issue of making sure the hospital stays in Christchurch is an objective achieved, this as I have said before was a hearts and minds matter for Christchurch residents and non negotiable. All Councillors involved over the last three or more years can be very satisfied that their contribution has benefited the whole community.
