Grange ward make the headlines again with Portfield close behind

If you wanted any indication of what happens when a good Conservative team are appointed as Councillors then you would be well advised to look at what is going on in Grange ward. This week Cllr Denise Jones and Cllr Paul Hilliard have hit the headlines for not just representing their community but more importantly delivering outcomes which benefit their community. From fencing a play area to supporting concerns about unlicensed mass burners both Councillors exemplify what good representation can deliver, I take my hat off to them. Following close behind are the Portfield girls, Cllr Margaret Phipps and Cllr Lisle Smith who have just taken on County about the state of Jumpers road, energised the community resulting in a 450 strong petition and getting a promise of resurfacing the road later on this year or early next. As this project had not appeared on any County program this is a considerable result. Again both Councillors listened to their community and have delivered an outcome. Well done to all of them and to all the other Conservative Councillors working to make Christchurch a better place to live, work and visit.
