Dorset Community Safety Partnership
I chaired the quarterly meeting of the CSP and agreed the key issues for the next year based on the evidence from various workshops over the last few months. I was also able to run through the statistics showing what was happening across the County in respect of our current priorities. We are doing sort of OK but in some areas I have a growing concern. One of these is the increasing trend, not severe but worrying, of incidents of domestic violence. Whether this is something which is a result of the pressure on family economics I am not sure but I have asked my team to be acutely aware of how this trend develops. All in all we live in a really safe environment and public acknowledgement of that is indicated from the perception surveys we undertake. However we must not get complacent and continue to find ways of tackling issues which affect residents wellbeing. These revolve around the three issues of Alcohol, Drugs and the afore mentioned Domestic Violence.
