This is Core Strategy week.

Wednesday evening sees the special Community Services meeting, 6.0pm CBC chamber, when the recently issued core strategy will be considered prior to public consultation. Those passionate about our Borough can book in to speak albeit for three minutes, about those concerns which directly effect them or where in their opinion, issues are raised within the document in respect of the policies stated being against the aims and overall vision of the strategy. It is important to understand that this is the core of a strategic document so in assessing issues consideration has to be given to the overall effect on the Borough rather than a ''not in my back yard'' approach.Interesting to note that this is the first 'partnership' strategy document with EDDC so they will be seeing it through to public consultation also. This is important because following this public involvement the Local Development Framework, which it will support will form our planning policy until 2026 or thereabouts. There is still a long way to go but this gives our community the chance to get involved and to share the vision.
