Nottage, a spin doctor you have to be joking! !

I gave an interview to the Echo last week about the state of our town centre and highlighted what the Council can and cannot do about the changing face of our High Street. Following some research with my business team the stats look far better that the public perceives and Christchurch is holding up well in these hard economic times. Judging by the interest in Christchurch from major players in just about all aspects of retailing, food outlets and the success of events like the Food Festival, Christchurch is holding up quite well. This view is not shared however by everyone and following the publication of what I thought was a very measured piece in the paper by Katie Clark comments appeared describing me as a 'spin doctor'! Not sure if that was a compliment as to my clear enthusiasm for Christchurch as a smashing place to live work and visit or a suggestion that I was lying through my teeth! Suffice to say that the Chamber of Commerce supported my stance so I guess that makes it all official, Christchurch is doing well and things are going to get better. Oh dear there I go again!!
