Saturday surgery
A good cross section of residents attended my surgery yesterday and certainly kept me on my toes. Street litter in Purewell again was a serious concern to people living in The Butteries and also along the top part of Stanpit. I have to say that the local concern is a good sign that the community is taking notice of my drive to get more people involved in a bit of community pride and I was encouraged by the suggestion of a quarterly residents litter pick and will pass this to Sparky for his opinion. Traffic again figured and I was able to remind people about the meeting on 30th of this month at the Methodist Hall in Mudeford Lane at 6.30pm. when the subject of the Purewell roudabout will be on the agenda. I was asked to look into the management of the Stanpit rec in respect of the Lions car boot sale which is causing potential safety concerns and have asked for a formal approach so that I have the various concerns detailed clearly. Christmas decorations figured with a nice lady asking if CBC could spend more this year. Regrettably, with resources so diminished and further pressures on budgets likely, I had to disappoint her. Finally a very nice gentleman took the time to come in and congratulate this Conservative council on the way we had delivered the Splash park, the all weather pitches at 2RM and the skate and BMX park. He was fulsome in his praise even though he was not of our political persuasion, I was delighted to hear his comments, it was very nice to see residents being very positive about what we are doing in Christchurch and how we are making it an even better place to live and visit. A good morning ruined by a visit to the dentist immediately afterwards!
