Rotten eggs thrown at houses-a new sport?
I had a report last week from a very nice lady who was highly agitated because for some inexplicable reason her house was being targeted by young vandals obviously bored to tears during their school holidays. Rotten eggs had been regularly thrown at her windows and you can imagine what sort of mess they left her to clean up. Much more and apart from the obscure reasons kids would do such a thing was the feeling of vulnerability she experienced as a result of this mindless activity. Can you imagine how she felt that after living peacefully in the same address for 24 years, in a very respectable location that she should suddenly and for no apparent reason be subject to this sort of attention. Fortunately the lady was a member of Homewatch and so I was able to call on the help of Sparky and his team to install the HW CCTV camera in her house which brings a degree of security to the situation. Just what will be picked up I am not sure but at least she feels that she has support from her community. Homewatch is proving to be a real benefit to the community and this particular lady was fulsome in her praise for all those that helped her. Good value for a £1 a year!!!
