A vision for Christchurch
Under the old centralised system that has nearly driven us to bankruptcy, Prescott and his Politburo determined for us what, where and how we should be living and how many houses we should target to build on any bit of land whether it was a garden, green belt or what. Now we have a chance to decide for ourselves how we want our Borough to be in 25 years time including where houses should be built. The emphasis is away from garden grabbing to a much more acceptable localised determination. This means that we are now deeply involved in a visionary process where we all decide what things are going to be like in the future and how we are going to deal with increasing population and all that that means. Big job but it has to be done if we are going be in control of our local development. Economic pressures avail so do not expect a quick fix. Public consultation is essential if this process is to make a difference so over the next year expect to get involved by answering questions about how and what Christchurch will be like in 25 years time.

Perhaps you could get the Council to write to all those residents and businesses whose properties they listed in document "Schedule of Developable Sites 2014-2024" as being candidates for 'land grabbing' to assure them that the document would no longer be used to guide future planning approvals... I am sure the public would be horrified if it saw what the Council were proposing.
