Back to blogging now the election is over

Well done Chris Chope on winning Christchurch again and considering the border changes to the constituency a very commendable result. Most encouraging was the turnout at over 70%, far higher than I had considered likely. So now we get back to the task in hand dealing with your day to day concerns and my long term objective of making Purewell and Stanpit an even better place to dwell. Last weeks surgery was busy and some issues need airing in this blog. Firstly a gentleman left me details about his concerns regarding the untidiness of the Fernlea development. He did not want to identify himself and I received his note detailing his concerns. I have again visited this area and find that standards have again dropped so have put the Housing Association on notice regarding the over-spilling bins and other detritus scattered around the place. I can only hope that the message will get through eventually to the residents that a bit of 'pride of place' would not go amiss and they should set higher standards in respect of keeping this place tidy and clean.
Parking issues in Purewell have now been highlighted to the new Highways team under the control of DCC so I await with interest how they deal with the issue now that it is out of CBC control.
