Mayday surgery at St Johns Purewell
I can't promise a maypole for Mayday but I do promise to be at St Johns Church at Purewell Cross at 10.30am on Saturday 1st May to hear and deal with any concerns residents have, at our monthly surgery. Much has been happening in April including the completion of the Purewell crossing and the highlight for me, the opening of the BMX track and all weather pitches at 2RM.Progress also for the Stanpit Marsh management plan which has now been passed and goes on to the next stage. The development at 52/54 Stanpit continues at a pace and many residents have expressed their concerns to me about how this development of six houses is going to dominate the area. It will be very interesting to see if the appeal inspectors view that the development will enhance the village is confirmed by the neighbours who currently are feeling the effects of the whole building process. What is gratifying is that concerns about anti-social behaviour and crime in general has hit an all time low. Unlike three years ago at the election when it was foremost in residents concerns. Fear of crime as a perception which was blighting the lives of so many of our residents has been tackled head on and I am delighted to see the results of the initiatives we have taken and the resultant change in the ward in terms of well being. Hope to see you on Saturday.
