Message to Neil, thank you for commenting as you have but you are mistaken in your assertion that I have 'done a u-turn' on the matter of this crossing issue. What you have said conveniently ignores the problem of the zigzag lines and the entrance to the car park, the safety issues associated with the new position of a different crossing to the one we expected to be installed. You are right that we publicised the fact that we persuaded Council to make a decision and were in expectation of what we had agreed. I might add that previous Councillors for this patch completely ignored the problem as they did the Crime and disorder issues' including speeding, which I inherited, you might appreciate that Purewell and Stanpit records the lowest crime figures in Christchurch Borough.
My attitude to this crossing problem is to try to turn a negative into a positive and that is what I am doing now. If you have information from the Constabulary which is in conflict with the that which I have please publish it so that we can use it in our negotiations.
Please do not comment with cheap shots about other Councillors, if you have a problem contact them directly,as a result you might find that you may wish to retract.
Finally would please state clearly what your position is in respect of the possibilty of Purewell losing upwards of eighteen car parking places?
