A safe place to live!
Something has been exercising my mind recently in light of the Scrutiny meeting last night about crime and disorder statistics for Christchurch. This is about how to portray the statistics so that they can be understood at-a-glance and are relevant and easily understood by residents. For some months now crime mapping has been available on a national basis via the crime mapping web sight so members of the public can see for themselves how safe their area is in terms of criminal incidents, this clearly relates to safety and wellbeing. Barry Sherwin (Purewell and Stanpit PACT Chairman) has been working tirelessly to make overall sense of these figures and will shortly be publishing an easy to read chart on the Purewell and Stanpit PACT and the Christchurch Homewatch blog, the chart will be regularly updated. It shows the annual running rate comparison of all reported crime across the Borough split into wards. What emerges is very pleasing because of all the wards in the Borough the best stats recorded are for ours, yes Purewell and Stanpit currently has the lowest crime and disorder rate of all wards. I intend to keep it that way. Well done everyone involved, there are times that a warm glow of satisfaction can be enjoyed albeit briefly. So enjoy it.
