Cars parking on pavements
I am being asked constantly about the legality of cars parking on pavements. If a vehicle is causing an obstruction which results in pedestrians and other users entitled to use the pavements having to walk in the road or to make other provisions because the access is blocked then the vehicle owner can be subject to a fine ticket issued by the Police or CBC environment officer. Due to the increasing problem of vehicle storage on our roads this problem is on the increase and in my opinion will not get better whilst we if-fill to get higher population densities in our residential areas. If you are subject to this nuisance you should get in touch with Pcso Martin Sparkes who will use his judgement to assess the situation and decide a course of action.Failing that let me or Lucy know and we will see the situation for ourselves.
