I am due a meeting this week with Dorset Police over the increasing problem of speeding and anti social driving in Christchurch Central. Quite why drivers should risk their licence, their own lives and the lives of others by driving in excess of statutory speed limits in side turnings, I do not know but from your complaints it is clearly endemic in Christchurch, it is causing a great deal of resident concern and something has to be done about it.
This matter and the fact that I am very unhappy about the state of our highways as well as the whole highway structure in the centre, this going to be one of my targets should I be elected as County Representative in June.I think it is time to raise the bar at County Hall to make sure that Christchurch, as the second highest populated area in Dorset, is brought into focus when priorities for funding issues like this are made.
Meanwhile Christchurch police are out there with speed cameras so please dont be one of those caught speeding.
