Long time no blog

I have been so very busy that my blog had to go on the back burner. This looks like continuing as for some reason there are so many issues, the weather and the credit crunch together will all the other bad news flying around does not help but I remind myself just how lucky we are to be living is such a fantastic place and take joy from the 'Christmas card' vista of frost on the Stanpit marsh each cold morning. And if it rains, as it is at present the marsh takes on a different personality equally as appealing. It is about the marsh that I write this morning, shortly a management plan will be published and will enter into public domain for consultation. This is an important document and if we value the contribution of this 'jewel in our crown' and want to see it protected and sustained as a site of special scientific interest and a haven for wild life as well as an amenity for walkers then our contribution is needed.Take the trouble to get a copy from the Council Offices and if you feel that measures are not sufficient to protect the bio-diversity or indeed the marsh itself please send your comments for consideration.Increasing population means that this area is coming under great pressure and we have to decide how we can balance the situation so that we can pass the area enhanced maybe to our grandchildren.
