PACT meetings
I attended a PACT panel meeting at the Police station yesterday armed, I have to say, with some good news. In the last six months in Purewell and Stanpit, reported incidents of anti-social behaviour have fallen by 25% as assessed against the previous six month period. Now we do have some cynic's about who would argue that this is because residents are not bothering to report incidents but if you speak to Sparky our CPSO he would confirm that this indication has the basis of fact. Also the work done by PACT and Homewatch has given residents the opportunity to voice their concerns and over the last year problems arising have been swiftly dealt with. Also the kurbside conferences that we run in specific areas have given people even more opportunity to report. Added to the fact that Sparky is regularly seen about the area and is therefore much more aware of concerns, I would have thought that reports would have gone up. Not so say the statisticians, could it be that we have had some success? We should enjoy it whilst it lasts! In other words a pat on the back all round but we can't get complacent.
