We are waiting for the second report from the Environment Agency regarding the flood damage potential for the whole of Christchurch including Stanpit. Last years storms indicated that work done by CBC over the last ten years had made a considerable difference and I was not aware of any inundation being reported. However the flooding issue is a worry and I have urged the Leader of the Council to expedite the report so that we can see the extent of the problems we are likely to face. There is no panic as yet, the report will I hope give us some guidance about what we can do to alleviate any likely hood of property damage.
Those of you who are studying the first EA report should be aware that I have been told that this does not take account of the flood prevention works completed over the last ten years!
