Yesterday's surgery

A very busy morning at StJohns with issues ranging from concerns over the number of pedestrian crossings in Christchurch to real problems resulting from rubbish being left in bags and not collected.
It does seem very odd to me that some residents seem content to have bags of refuse strewn across the front of their house including rotting food waste and do nothing about it for weeks. Cllr Davies was straight into action so tomorrow the matter will be dealt with. Flooding is of great concern and our patch has not been immune to problems. County resources have been stretched to the limit with roads  under water all over Dorset. Tomorrow I shall be making representation about the flooding in Mudeford Lane and the problem in Stanpit/ Ledbury road junction. One resident was very complimentary about the improvements being done to improve the car park at Stanpit recreation ground but was concerned that it should also include the boardwalk from Disrealli gardens onto the marsh. I will check on the progress tomorrow and report later. So all in all a very useful morning especially when a gesture from a supporter of our local work paid us a real compliment. I will finish this with a wish to everyone for a happy and healthy new year and despite this dreadful weather hope we can all see spring coming soon. Watch this space for an event at St Johns.
