That was the week that..........
Activity following August our traditional holiday month, is usually a bit pressured but this year September kicked off with meeting after meeting. Not just for me but for all Councillors. Pre Council meeting through Monday into the evening, full Council Tuesday following meetings in Wareham, Community Services Wednesday night, Thursday Community Safety Meeting in Dorchester followed by a late evening meeting/workshop at East Dorset Council Offices. Catch up on paperwork on Friday and yet further meetings at Furzehill getting back home early evening for a well deserved pint. My fellow ward Councillor was affected in the same way with three trips to Dorchester for high level discussions regarding the new Health and wellbeing agenda. So a really active week but with outcomes also. A good level of communication across Dorset through the CSP including the Police and Crime Commissioner and a follow up to the Dorset High Sheriff bringing together the CSP and the pan Dorset Criminal Justice board. Noted was a further fall in criminal events in just about every area in Dorset although we do appear to hitting a plateau from which there is only one possible direction of travel. So Community Safety Officer for all Councils are watching the situation very carefully. An exhausting week for an 'olden' but finishing up with the good news that our head of growth appointment has been confirmed and his activities will commence at the end of this month. That was the week that.........
