Saxon Square

The news that at last the legal contracts have been completed and signed this week is very welcome indeed. It will mean some disruption in the Autumn as the work commences but a new refreshed Square will add to the Christchurch experience for residents,visitors will have the opportunity to stay at the new Travel Lodge revitalising the medical centre and the surrounding area. I await with great anticipation the completion of the project which is targeted for the end of this year and am convinced that the introduction of the new hotel and the refurbishment will make a big difference to Christchurch town centre. Town centre traffic continues to cause great concern so we are working with Dorset COunty Council on some long term solutions. This is not an easy problem and it will require some bold and innovative thinking and then considerable investment. We will cross that bridge when we come to it (pun).
