Last Thursdays PACT meeting
Another healthy turnout of residents for the quarterly PACT (Partners and Communities Together) meeting at the Mudeford Lane Methodist Church. Concerns raised again about dog fouling which I have to say is very annoying considering the levels of publicity we have given the issue over the years. Most interesting was the report from our Safer Neighbourhood Team by our local bobby about the overall reduction in events which could be described as criminal over the last five years. A staggering reduction in just about every area and description. My take on this is that partnership working by the residents with all agencies including the Police, CBC and Councillors has really paid dividends. A big pat on the back however to our SNT including our 'eyes and ears' our PCSO Sparky who should be given great credit for his diligent work over the last six or so years. However we do still have some concerns about theft from insecure motor vehicles at night and a resurgent issue of graffiti which is appearing all over the Borough. I understand that arrests have been made on the graffiti issue over the last week but the group coming into our patch to thieve from vehicles are still at large. So please do not leave valuables in you car or van and ensure that your vehicle is locked and preferably alarmed. On street parking featured again with all the concerns raised about Dorset County Council taking over the monitoring and control of this matter and whether they are going to improve the situation. The jury is out!
