Yesterdays surgery

Quite a busy morning with some interesting reactions to current issues! Three residents complained to us about the CBC decision in respect of the Stony Lane supermarket application and enquired as to the current situation. As most people know this matter is now in the hands of an appeal inspector. We had a very interesting discussion with a resident about fund raising for Druitt and I have to say I was encouraged that at least one person understood our dilemma, the fact that as the hall was handed back to the Council in the par less state it was following years of indifference to the depreciating condition by those who should have been responsible, CBC was left 'between a rock and a hard place'. That there was no budget or likelihood of tax payers monies being available due to the stringent income cuts we are experiencing was also understood. Again this was refreshing. Parking issues featured yet again with particular reference to the Purewell side streets and finally the general issue of tidiness of building sites and the common areas of Furnlea. The latter issue will be dealt with through our housing port folio holder. All in all an useful interchange, face to face with our residents.

Just in case you're missing me, 'par less state' is actually 'parlous state.' No other criticism, rejected as a waste of time.
