Renewable energy conference

CBC portfolio holder for the Environment Cllr Margaret Phipps has just produced the wash-up report from the Renewable Energy market and conference held at CBC last month. It concludes very simply that there are alternatives which with the same level of subsidies would mitigate the need for such a massive intrusion to our coastline vista in the form of the Navitas project as currently set out. The report will be circulated to all contributors, Councils and interested organisations but should anyone else be interested in seeing a copy I will see if the author will allow me to include it on this blog. Otherwise just comment on here or send me an email and I will see that you get a copy. In essence the purpose of spending so much time and energy on this project is to develop sufficient information about alternative sources of renewable energy so that we can point our Members of Parliament in the right direction considering that they have a degree of responsibility in reacting to the decisions already made in that place to nationally promote and subsidise the massive off-shore wind farm.
