I know that this identity isn't hidden this time, but do the comments have to be self-congratulatory? I quote:

It would be more valid if an ordinary person rather than the Leader of the Council had posted it!
There appears to be quite a number of people in the Christchurch area who disagree with you in respect of your view that the council is doing a great job. Over the past couple of weeks I would say approx. 85% of the people I have spoken to completely disagree with your view Councillor Nottage.
Regrettably sir the comment above is correct. You don't appear to be very popular with the citizens of Christchurch. Please come down to the real world sir, you appear to be the most unpopular Leader CHristchurch has every had, and those sir are not my words, they represent the people of this town.
Many thanks for commenting on my blog, I am interested that you appear to claim to be representitive of the people of Christchurch. I would be very pleased therefore if you would put yourself forward as a potential Councillor. This seems to me to be the best way forward for you, then you can turn your viws and those you claim to represent into outcomes to the benefit of Christchurch.
Have looked through the whole of this blog. Two things strike me: 1) You always say that others are wrong and then put them down (cf final comment). 2) You never seem to make a mistake.
If you don't like the job why not just give up next year? There are very few public responses which give you any support.
On the other hand people would be impressed if just once in a while you didn't deprecate others or even - heaven forbid! - say you made a mistake. The latter would, strangely, improve your status so much.
