Two Riversmeet leisure centre

I can't remember if I blogged about the new gymnasium facility CBC has just opened at 2RM. I did a tour of inspection the other day, what a fantastic job the management team there have done! What impressed me as much as the new building and training gear installed was the demeanour of the staff, all very friendly, smiling at every opportunity and so knowledgeable about the whole business of personal fitness. Whilst I am always insistent that CBC get value for taxpayers money from their investments, (in this case an awful lot of money) I can see relevant social and well being benefits cascading down into our population. If you get a chance, pop in for a tour. This whole facility, including all weather football pitches, BMX and Skate Park, is testament to what can be achieved by a Council determined to make Christchurch a better place to live, visit and work in. I think there is every possibility that there is more to come!
