The new waste system.
Everyone should have received by now the leaflet describing the new Dorset wide waste system which will be rolled out in October in Christchurch. Details of how the scheme will work are clearly described on these leaflets which should be retained by householders. If extra copies are required then these are available from CBC or your local Councillor. All CBC Councillors have had training via seminars, to be able to assist should residents have concerns so make use of them if there are real problems. In some areas Conservative councillors are door knocking to make sure residents are aware of the forthcoming change and to keep them informed of all the aspects and advantages of the new system. Change of any kind is always problematical but in the case of waste collection and re-cycling it is something the whole of Dorset has to embrace if we are going to keep Council Tax down. Should we not change then tax will increase exponentially, this due to the escalation of 'land fill' levies and the low level of re-cycling currently accepted as the norm.
