Mudeford Road works

I suppose that despite the inconvenience we should be grateful that this work is being undertaken by County as the road was becoming quite dangerous as it deteriorated. The complexity of the operation of surface removal and replacement, with all that that means to the residents and businesses appears to be being handled very well but it could only happen in this Country that having reduced the surface to a moonscape the contractors pack up on Friday afternoon not to be seen again until Monday morning. The point I am making is that the issue of completing the project, reducing inconvenience and dangers to road users is secondary to the employment laws imposed on us and we the residents have just got to get on with the fact that contracts of this kind are not done at weekends. Forgive me but I find this perverse. And if that is not enough whilst the road surface with it's exposed manhole covers is obvious to everybody, drivers appear to be oblivious to the potential dangers to them and other users and insist on hurtling along the road at 40 miles per hour. Getting out of Argyle road requires technique to avoid the obstructions, low speed just in case you hit one and then your faced with vehicles being driven as if they were at Silverstone.
